This is a joint project with Eyam Church with two aims: to drastically reduce, or eliminate, the amount of green waste by composting grass clippings and fallen leaves from the Church yard. We also want to promote composting garden and kitchen waste as a making an excellent soil improver and to reducing carbon emissions.
The outreach part of the project was due to begin in April. At the present time it looks unlikely that we will be able to hold face-to-face meetings this year so are working on online resources that will include guided presentations, videos and interactive help. See this page.
The compost bins are in place waiting to be filled. We also made leafmould composter at the end of 2019. It has just produced the first leaf mould!
